- Boring with all "Prairie Dog" boring machines is relatively simple. The most basic thing to remember is proper set up, set-up, setup. Read your instructions thoroughly, understand what the equipment is supposed to do and most anyone can bore a hole successfully. You simply dig a trench, align the drill stem in the trench, connect your fluid source to the machine. Install your drill stem, pilot bit,etc. turn on the liquid...Start machine to rotating...advance the machine forward while adding extra drill stem to reach the desired length once you come out on the other side, change pilot bit for desired backreamer and reverse operations.
